Charles & Reid

Charles & Reid is a Detroit-style pizzeria at 113 E State St in downtown Traverse City, opened in May 2020 by Dan and Kristin Karabacz after they moved back to Michigan from Colorado and reworked the former Alley’s Market spot into their own shop. The menu is built on named pies like The Brick, Pep in Yo Step, The Bandit, Bee Nauti (soppressata, capicola, fresh mozzarella, hot honey drizzle), Big Popper (jalapeno, bacon, goat cheese, tomato jam), and The Lorenzo (topped with burrata, pesto, and olive oil), plus salads, sandwiches, and a gluten-free crust option when available. They bake small batches with weekly rotating specials and close when they sell out. Voted the #3 pizza in Michigan by the Michigan Small Business Spotlight audience.
