Buddy's Pizza

Buddy’s Pizza is the birthplace of Detroit-style pizza, first served in 1946 at Gus Guerra’s Buddy’s Rendezvous on the corner of Six Mile and Conant in Detroit. The square pies with caramelized cheese edges, baked in blue steel pans, launched a style that now spans the country. The original Conant Street location still serves the Detroiter, Buddy bread, and antipasto salad in a room full of Detroit history. Voted the #4 pizza spot in Michigan by the Michigan Small Business Spotlight audience.
