Located at 2265 Crooks Road in Rochester Hills, Griffin Claw is a neighborhood gathering place built around over 30 taps of craft beer made in house, along with spirits, hard cider, and hard seltzer. They brew beer, distill whiskey, vodka, and gin, and they do it all under one roof. The breadth of what they make is unusual even by Michigan standards.

The flagship beer, Norm’s Raggedy Ass IPA, won a gold medal at the 2010 World Beer Cup. That kind of recognition early in a brewery’s life sets a standard, and Griffin Claw has spent the years since living up to it.
