Detroit Body Garage is a community fitness gym, not an auto shop, on Detroit’s east side at 10103 Kercheval, on the corner of Kercheval and Cadillac in the Little Village corridor. It was founded by Terra Castro, a former professional triathlete who raced for 11 years, finishing 16 Ironman events and more than 40 marathons, and it opened its current home in a historic building on October 2, 2026 after years at 8635 Mack Avenue in a former auto garage, which is where the name comes from. Classes carry automotive-themed names like Body Garage, Tune-Up, Suspension, Torque, and Full Throttle, covering strength training, yoga, triathlon training, injury prevention, and prenatal and postnatal fitness, with one-on-one coaching available. Its stated mission is to be a vehicle of change through movement and community, serving all ages and fitness levels.
