The Michigan Small Business Spotlight Awards exist to formalize that mission. Every year we will find, recognize, and celebrate the businesses that make Michigan what it is. Not the chains. Not the franchises. The real ones.
Nominations are free and open to everyone. If you know a Michigan small business that deserves recognition, we want to hear about them.

Anyone can nominate any Michigan small business for free. Tell us their name, their region, their category, and why they deserve to be recognized.
Finalists are announced publicly and Michigan votes for their favorites. Every vote helps determine the winners across all 13 categories.
Winners are featured across the entire Michigan Small Business Spotlight platform, reaching over 4,700 community members statewide.
Winners are selected in two tracks: by region and by business type. Every category produces one recognized winner.
Nominations are always free. Once your business is nominated, you will receive an invitation to officially enter the awards program and unlock additional visibility throughout the campaign.
